Indian Railways to launch special exhibition train to promote CWG 2010

According to a PTI report, a special exhibition train will be launched to promote Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2010, scheduled to be held from October 3-14 in New Delhi, across the country and is likely to be flagged-off from the capital by this month end.
An official from the Ministry of Railways said that the train will be painted with the Commonwealth Games logo along with that of Indian Railways. It will carry detailed exhibits of Commonwealth Games and use of Information Technology in Railways will be a special attraction for the people. The Ministry of Railways will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Commonwealth Games Organizing Committee in this regard.
The train will travel to each state and have stoppages at selected stations across 16 zones in the country. “We will be coming up with a detailed schedule of train movement and its timings so that people can visit and see the exhibition in it,” added the official.
Indian Railways is a lead partner for the Commonwealth Games. The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), an enterprise under Railway Board has already been chosen to sell Games tickets.
