Globus Family of Brands to create brand and product awareness of Avalon Waterways in Indian market
25th Aug 2010
With an aim to promote niche product like river cruising in the Indian market, Globus Family of Brands which promotes Avalon Waterways, offering river cruises in Europe, China, Egypt and Galapagos, is looking at creating brand and product awareness in the Indian market. The company is promoting river cruising products of Avalon Waterways by conducting product awareness among the travel agents across India and by organising familiarisation trips to educate agents about the product.
Speaking with TravelBiz Monitor about promoting a river cruising in the Indian market, Gauri Jayaram, Regional Director - South Asia and Middle East, Globus Family of Brands said, “ River cruising is a niche tourism product in the Indian market as cruising in itself is the nascent stage. Currently, we are creating awareness about Avalon Waterways and the products offered by company to the Indian market.”
The company will launch a specific Avalon Waterways brochure before end of this year in order to target the next cruise season – April to October 2011. Avalon Waterways is targeting the age groups of 50 and beyond with cruising on River Rhine, Moselle and Danube in Europe and other destinations like China, Egypt and Galapagos. “We are investing in the Indian market to create awareness and introduce a niche product to be able to create the right market in the next three years,” stated Jayaram.
Furthermore, Avalon Waterways will also introduce Avalon Panorama – an all suite ship in Europe in April 2011. Avalon Panorama will offer two royal suites, 67 standard suites and 17 staterooms with itineraries on River Rhine and Danube for experienced travellers.
