Bengaluru International Airport crowned Best Emerging Airport
4th June 2011 The Bengaluru International Airport has been recognised as the Best Emerging Airport — Indian Sub-continent by Emerging Markets Airports Awards (EMAA) for the second time in a row. According to a report by DNA, the airport was declared the winner post the tabulation of poll results from industry chiefs across world airports. This year, the awards evaluated product and service touch points across the airport experience, covering a wide range of passenger types and highest satisfaction ratings in a diverse market. The awards ceremony was held in Dubai recently with senior decision makers from the airport fraternity. The other top four contenders include airports from India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
GV Sanjay Reddy, Managing Director, BIAL said, “This award goes to showcase the hard work the entire BIAL airport community has put in to stand out among the larger aviation group. It is not only a testimony of the promise this airport holds for the future, but also the positive sentiments of the industry towards our airport.” The 2011 EMA awards honoured airports from emerging markets of Middle East, Africa, India, Russia, CIS and the Baltic States by conducting a poll among a diverse and discerning group of professionals involved in airports, aviation, aerospace, and cargo and logistics in the emerging markets.
