Brief
Kaziranga National Park lies partly in Golaghat District and partly in Nagaon District of Assam. It is the oldest park in assam covers an area of 430 Sq kms along the river Brahmaputra on the North and the Karbi Anglong hills on the South. The National Highway 37 passes through the park area and tea estates, hemmed by table-top tea bushes. One can even see the rhinos and wild elephants straying near the highway.
Kaziranga National Park a world heritage site is famous for the Great Indian one horned rhinoceros, the landscape of Kaziranga is of sheer forest, tall elephant grass, rugged reeds, marshes & shallow pools. It has been declared as National Park in 1974.
Kaziranga National Park is one of the last areas in eastern India undisturbed by a human presence. It is inhabited by the world's largest population of one-horned rhinoceroses, as well as many mammals, including tigers, elephants, panthers and bears, and thousands of birds.

The Kaziranga National Park is located on the south bank of river Brahmaputra, in the north-eastern state of Assam.
Climate & Ideal Time to Visit
The average temperature of the park is 32 and 11 degrees C during summer & winter respectively. Winter(November - April) is the best time to visit the park. During monsoon(June-September) the park remains closed due to heavy rain fall.
Entry Fee
The park charges an entry fee of Rs 200 for foreigners and Rs 10 for Indians. Additional fees are required to pay for the entry of camera, vehicle and elephant rides.Wildlife Attraction
Flora - The park has a vegetation of dense tropical forest type with a vast stretch of tall elephant grass. Its ever green grassland provides a perfect habitat for the Indian one horned rhino.
Fauna - Besides, a handsome population of the great Indian one horned rhino, the park houses several other wildlife attractions. Elephant, leopard, bison, wild boar, jackal, buffalo, jungle cat, deers are some other major animals found here.
Avi-fauna - The park is also home to a rich variety of bird species like the black kite, eagle, Himalayan Grifon, geese, duck etc. The park also attracts a large number of migratory birds like the Bar-Headed Geese and Falcated Duck.
